Late last night, the former postseason hero for the Houston Astros George Springer brought his heroics to Toronto and all of Canada as he smoked a 3 run home run in the 7th inning to give the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead over the Mariners. This would be all the run support Toronto needed to advance to the 2025 World Series which begins this Friday in Toronto against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This game started out with dominant pitching by Seattle with George Kirby getting the start, and only allowing 1 run through the first 4 innings. Solo shots from the Mariners two big bats Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh helped give Seattle an early 3-1 lead. Kirby handed the ball off to Bryan Woo in the 5th who came in and had two more shut down innings before Toronto found some magic in the 7th. Woo started the 7th inning by walking the first batter Addison Barger, followed by a single up the middle from IKF. After a sac bunt from Gimenez to advance the runners, Seattle brought in reliever Eduard Bazardo. The first batter he saw was George Springer who has been battling a knee injury after getting hit by a pitch in the knee in Game 5 in Seattle. Although, his knee seemed perfectly fine last night as he connected on a 1-0 Slider driving it 381 feet to left and a couple rows into the crowd to give Toronto the late lead.

After Springer's shot, Toronto late inning relievers came in and shut the door to bring the World Series back to Canada for the first time since 1993. Chris Bassitt had the 8th and only needed 10 pitches to record 3 outs and 1 strikeout. Then veteran reliever Jeff Hoffman came in for the 9th, striking out the side, and securing the game 7 win for the Blue Jays.

Following the game, Toronto was handed the American League Champion trophy and Vladdy Jr. was named the ALCS MVP. Vladdy has been dominant at the plate since the Postseason started with a slashing line of a .442 average, 1.440 OPS, with 6 home runs and 12 RBIs. He and Toronto will look to continue their Postseason success against a Dodgers team led by dominant pitching, a strong offense and a star studded offense. The Dodgers have been led by pitching all Postseason so far, with continued dominant outings by all four of their starters. While Toronto on the other hand has had an old school offensive barrage with base hits, solid at bats and timely hitting. One will give this World Series, and only one team will come out on top. Will Los Angeles go back to back, or will the trophy head north of the border for the first time in over 30 years?
